Allen R. Dellinger, 75, of Knightstown passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born September 3, 1947 in New Albany, IN son of Gerald and Louise Jean (DiBacco) Dellinger.
Allen was a 1965 graduate of Centerville High School where he played basketball, baseball and golf. He owned and operated Bowman and Son Home Improvement in Richmond. He previously worked at Natco in Richmond. He was a member of Whitewater Valley Bass Club, an accomplished fisherman, a car enthusiast and enjoyed taking his Mustang to car shows. Allen was a member of Nameless Creek Christian Church in Greenfield. He enjoyed yard work, traveling, motor sports racing, music particularly "the oldies" and good food. Allen was an avid golfer and an all around family man.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Dellinger of Knightstown; children, Lisa (Greg Roy) Miller, Jennifer (Gabe) Garner, Jackie (Greg) Adams; step children, Carrie Ferree, Julie Maxwell, Kevin (Sarah) Livingston; grandchildren, Clayton Miller, Megan (Maged El Araby) Garner, Jenna Shearer, Katlyn Garner, Ashlyn Roy, Callie Roy, Jessup (Tabetha Perry) Ferree, Emma (Dakota Michael) Ferree, Collin Ferree, Lucille Maxwell, David James Livingston and Kelly Livingston; mother, Louise Jean Dellinger; niece, Lorrie (Scott) Ness; brother-in-law, David Knott; sister-in-law, Gloria Dellinger; father-in-law, Jim Speer.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Dellinger and brother, Wayne Dellinger.
Services will be at 4:00 PM Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Linda Trowbridge officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sue Ann Vortman Cancer Center, 801 N State Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.
