Allen Wayne Gridley, 66, of Batesville, IN, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025. He was born on August 20, 1958 in Milan, IN to Robert Shaw Gridley Sr. and Minnie Belle Gridley (née. Kittle). Allen was a loving husband and father to his wife, Donna Borders and daughters: Kiya Gridley and Jessica Inman.
He is survived by his wife and daughters; two sisters: Susan Gridley-Kirkham and Runita Gridley-Thomas; and two brothers: Wesley "Scott" Gridley and Robert Gridley Jr. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces/nephews, and great grand-nieces/nephews.
Allen worked at Romweber Co. for many years as a woodworker and later at Hill-Rom (now Baxter) in receiving as a materials handler until his passing. He proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating dedication and discipline throughout his military career.
Allen enjoyed old western movies and shows, military history (as well as movies and shows), and WWE wrestling. His two most favorite things in life were Reese's candy and a good hamburger. He had a special place in his heart for Popee, his daughter Kiya's cat, whom he treated as a little furry grandchild.
He will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 5:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm at Meyers Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted by the Batesville VFW Post #3183 and Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 following the memorial service.
