Mr. Allen Leroy Jackson, 83, passed away at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, GA, on August, 23, 2025 in the presence of his loving daughter.
Allen was born in Fayetteville, NC to the late E.L. and Hilda Jackson in 1941. He served his country in the United States Army, joining when he was only seventeen years old and serving for nearly fifteen years. After his enlistment he was the maintenance man at the First Baptist Church of Swainsboro for many years. He had many hobbies and passions and loved tinkering and fixing things. If he wasn’t working, he would be found antiquing or stopping by yard sales, at the former Hardee’s, or Waffle King enjoying coffee and fellowship, or simply relaxing at home with his cat, Sister, feeding and watching the birds and squirrels that would frequent his yard. His home was full of his collection of eagles and patriotic memorabilia, and he always had an American flag waving proudly in his front yard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Camilla Iris Braswell, and a brother, Teddy Ardon Jackson.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Dawn (Jason) Wingate of Vidalia, Jacqueline (Nate) Jackson of Columbus, Lee Ta (Babygirl) Jackson of Alabama, and Angela Crooms, his grandchildren, Cammy Jo Blair Jackson, Shaina Amanda Edwards, Cheyenne Summerlin, Rowdy James Brown, Adrianna Louise Minton, and Erin Paige Coleman, his beloved great-grandchildren, Alayna Daycie Alvarado, Mylei Jo Bennett Collins, Shelby Parker Edwards, Isaac Lee Edwards, Rainah Jolene Summerlin, and William Greyson Summerlin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 3:00pm Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Boatright officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Hardee’s Coffee Crew from Swainsboro.
