Allen ‘Al’ Lefeld, age 67, of Coldwater, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Kindred Hospital in Lima after a long battle with cancer. He was born on April 4, 1958 in Celina to the late Edward & Viola (Heuing) Lefeld. On May 2, 1981 in St. Anthony, he married Linda (Gaerke) and she survives him in Coldwater.
He is also survived by children, Matt & Patricia (Branton) Lefeld of Reno, Nevada, Chad & Heather (Roehm) Lefeld of Coldwater, and Eric & Ashleigh (Snell) Lefeld of Loveland, Ohio, grandchildren, Grant and Bruce Lefeld, Jacob and Mara Lefeld, Madeline, Elena, and Josephine Lefeld, siblings and in-laws, Alberta (Lefeld) Behr of Ft. Loramie, Phyillis (Lefeld) Krieg of North Star, Francis & Madonna (Lefeld) Grieshop of New Bremen, mother-in-law, Lillian (Gaerke) Homan, in-laws, Gary Gaerke of Coldwater, Dennis & Andrea (Falk) of Port Huron, Michigan, Cindy & Ken McNett of Wapakoneta, Nick & Jan (Wannemacher) Gaerke of Centerville, Terry & Phyllis (Sutter) Gaerke of Coldwater, Jim & Marlene (Gaerke) Balster of New Bremen, Leonard & Lucy (Brown) Gaerke of Coldwater, step-sibling in-laws, Tom Behr of Sidney, Dave & Joan (Stelzer) Homan of Hoagland, Indiana, Sandra (Homan) Clune, Alvin & Eileen (Brackman) Homan of Minster, Gary & Jane (Kramer) Homan of Coldwater and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Dale & Patricia (Lefeld) Winner, Edward Lefeld, Larry Behr, and John Krieg, father-in-law, Leonard Gaerke, in-laws, Lou Ann Gaerke, and David Gaerke, step-father-in-law, Cletus Homan, step-sibling in-laws, Laura (Homan) Behr, and Dick Clune.
Allen was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Allen operated and owned Lefeld Cabinets in Coldwater and specialized in unique woodworking designs. He did not know a stranger and made everyone feel welcome. He was also a member of the Mercer County Area Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid golfer and card player. Allen was a passionate follower of all the activities of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed the traveling opportunities to spend time with them.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 13 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, February 12, and from 9 AM to 10 AM on Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
