Allen Lee “Butch” Rothering, age 78, of Minnesota City, MN, died Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Gundersen Health Care System in La Crosse, WI.
Allen was born February 17, 1947, in Winona, MN, the son of Gaylord and June (Wilkins) Rothering. Butch worked as a baker and enjoyed his time working in restaurants and bakeries. He enjoyed fishing, and loved spending time with his family. After his wife, Genevieve, died he started an organization called Second Chance Ranch, which offered rehabilitation services for men out of prison. Butch never passed up an opportunity to help anyone, no matter what his own situation was.
He is survived by his children: Allen, Jr. (Dannielle) Rothering Kansas City, KS, Dawn Rothering of Minnesota City, and Crystal (Richard) Marsolek of Rollingstone, MN; grandchildren: Aleesha Adam, and Jacob Rothering, and Zac, and Kai Marsolek; siblings: Tom (Diane) Rothering of Buffalo City, WI, Sandy Rothering of Winona, and Linda (Robert) Brown of Winona.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Genevieve; daughter-in-law, Kathy; siblings, Rhonda Schell, and Bernie (LaVonne) Suer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
