Allen Wallace Obituary

Allen Jackson Wallace, 82, of Locust, NC, passed away at home on December 25, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 16, 1943, in Charlotte, NC, to the late Homer Jackson Wallace and Mary Penningar Wallace.

Allen graduated from Bethel High School in Midland, NC, and served in the Air National Guard. Over the years, he worked at IBM and Little Heating & Air. He also pursued entrepreneurial ventures, owning and operating The Parfait Place in Mint Hill and Aggie's Grill in Hickory Grove. In 1976, he opened the Sundae Shop in Midland. Later, in 1998, he and his wife Pat opened Wallace Produce in Albemarle-a country produce and flower store they ran together until retiring in 2005.

He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Midland. Allen enjoyed fishing, tending to his yard, and spending time in his shop repairing various items.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Homer Wallace.

Allen is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Wallace; children: Jason Wallace (Tasha), John Wallace (Kelly), and Katherine Rigdon (Cyrus Klaesi); and stepchildren: Tommy Hughes (Kelly) and Cheryl Morgan (David). He is also survived by grandchildren: Kayla Wallace, Jett Wallace, Samuel Rigdon, Grace Rigdon, Noah Rigdon, Lakeley Wallace; step-grandchildren: Kenna Klaesi, Kellen Hughes (Kelsey), Kendall Hughes, Amber Hughes, Tyler Morgan (Emily), Shane Morgan (Taylor); and great-grandchildren: Oliver Wallace, Knox Thomas Hughes, and David Solomon Morgan.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Midland, NC, followed by a reception at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s (www.stjude.org) or The Sandbox in honor of granddaughter Amber Hughes.
