Allen Wing Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Plummer Funeral Home - Augusta on Feb. 26, 2026.
Allen William Wing, 56, of Augusta Maine lost his battle to cancer on February 22, 2026.

Allen was born on March 19, 1969 in Augusta, Maine to Richard A. Wing and Pauline Sigmund Miller Wing. He attended school in Augusta and graduated from Cony High School in 1987.

After graduation from high school, Allen worked for Rodrigue Builders from 1987-2009 before starting his own carpentry business. As a master finish carpenter, his careful eye for perfection and craftsmanship is found in homes and other buildings throughout central Maine. His son Bradley, continues his legacy.

In 1991, he married Karen Wilson after being set up on a blind date. They had almost 35 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed visiting the coast of Maine and traveling to see their grandchildren and serving in their church.

Allen had many interests but focused mostly on his family, church and work. When his children were young, he would coach their sports teams, attend many school concerts and cheer them on. There was nothing he wouldn't do for his family and they were the light of his life.

He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was heavily involved in children's ministries, including Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and Friday Night Kid's Club leader. He was often seen attending concerts, sports activities, graduations and other activities of "his" church kids. The kids knew that he was one of their biggest cheerleaders.

Allen was proud to be an American and embraced the ideals of the U S Constitution and it's Amendments. He supported American-made products and collected USA memorabilia, including a large collection of patriotic t-shirts.

Allen was predeceased by his parents, his mother-in-law Mary Wilson, grandson Jaxon Wing, brother-in-law Tim Sivret, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wing, brother-in-law Donald (DJ) Wilson, Jr.

He is survived by his wife Karen; his children, Justin Wing, Bradley Wing (Emily) and Ashley Brammer (Tim); his grandchildren, Caroline, Raylee, Paislee, Barrett, Mason and Oliver. He is also survived by his siblings, Rick, Carol, Tim, Mike, Sandra, Andy and Ellen, and other loved ones.

While many people would say that Allen was a "really good guy", his faith was a chief motivation in his life. He would want his friends and loved ones to join him in heaven by believing in Jesus Christ for eternal salvation.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kennebec Valley Humane Society in Augusta, Maine.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 28 at 11am at Fellowship Baptist Church, 237 Eastern Avenue, Augusta, Maine.
