Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5
Allen James Young, affectionately called Uncle Tote, was me peacefully called to his heavenly home on October 6, 2024, in Tamp Florida at the age of 69. He was born on November 26, 1954, to the late Florida Collins Young and Harry Young Allen and was baptized at an early age. He was the educated in the St. Charles Parish Public School System and attended the Boutte Special Education School. Allen was employed by the St. Charles Parish Arc as a Landscape assistant 1989 to 1999. He lived in Des Allemand's most of his life until the death of his beloved mother and later moved to Boutte, LA to live with his sister Harriette until her death. He then moved to Tampa Florida to live with his baby sister Barbara Lee until our lord called him home to glory.
He was always a very happy and kind person. He loved being in the company of his family and friends. He also loved to watch western movies and one of his favorite pass times was to turn himself into a human be-bop to perform old gospels, creole beats, and other sounds passed down from his ancestors. He would make drum thumping sounds by beating his chest and knees with his hand. He would perform for anyone whenever and wherever he got the opportunity.
He leaves to cherish his memories (5) Sisters: Doris Anderson, Jean Thigpen (Arthur), Myrdel Coleman, Joann Hunter (George), and Barbara Lee. (1) Goddaughter-Deon Hunter, over 55 nieces and nephews, over 125 great nieces and nephews, and approximately 210 great, great nieces and nephews as well as a host other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Florida Collins Young and Harry Young; Siblings: Yvonne Carter, Harriet Young, Louaider Harris, Patricia Young, Cynthia Smith, Iris Young, Thomas Young, and Curtis Young. (3) Brothers-in-Law: Walter Anderson, Andrew Coleman, & John Lee Sr.
Rest In Peace Uncle Tote. Although you are gone, you will never be forgotten.
