Allene Deaver Strigle, age 95, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022. Allene was born on October 6, 1927 in Laurinburg, North Carolina to Mack Deaver and Lottie Evans Deaver; she was their only child.
Allene was a woman of faith and was a Christian, and had a good heart. She was also known to be very social, strong-willed, determined, and very opinionated. Allene loved spending time with her family, especially with her only daughter, Vickie Lynn Turner, who passed away April 4, 2022.
Allene married her husband, Paul Strigle, on March 7, 1979. The two originally met on a train while they were both traveling. Paul passed away November 30, 2008. During their marriage, she and Paul enjoyed many trips, and especially enjoyed trips out west.
Allene is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Strigle; daughter, Vickie Lynn Turner; and her grandson, Dale Scott Turner, who passed away October 1, 2020.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Tammy Hildebrand (Eric); son-in-law, Nigel Turner, who lovingly cared for Allene during the last several months after the passing of Vickie; great-granddaughter, Taylor Hildebrand; and great-grandson, Dalton Hildebrand.
A visitation for Allene will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. following the visitation. A graveside committal service will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Community Hospice and Palliative Care.
