Allison Elizabeth DeGrosky

February 23, 1959 - October 14, 2025
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Allison was soon after adopted by Ruth Fish of South Walpole, where she spent most of her childhood. She and her brother, Johnny, who was also adopted from a separate birth family, were lovingly raised by their mother, Ruth, and grandparents, known by all as Mother T and Daddy John.
After working various entry-level positions in hospitals and nursing homes, Allison found her true calling in nursing. For nearly three decades, she dedicated herself to caring for patients, the elderly, and even inmates, constantly reminding others that "they are patients too". Her children recall countless moments in the community when someone would call out, "Nurse Allison!" to express gratitude for her genuine compassion and kindness during their time of need.
After many years of bravely battling cancer, Allison laid down her sword and peacefully made her way back to God. A woman of deep faith, she was steadfast in her belief in the Lord and carried that faith throughout her life.
Allison is survived by her devoted husband, Jack Alley, her rekindled love from when she was sweet sixteen. Jack stood faithfully by her side through every joy and every storm. She is also survived by her brothers John Fish and Michael Ciacci: Michael being her devoted birth brother, whom she proudly reunited with after many years of searching for answers about her adoption, and her cherished niece, Kindsey Rogers, daughter of Michael.
She leaves behind her four beloved daughters: Katherine Clark, Lorin Sloman, Savannah DeGrosky, and Beth Alley; and her two loving son-in-law, James Sloman and Phillip Walker. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren, Brandon, Breeanna, Kirstin, Katelynn, Madison, Emmaline, Brooklyn, River, Declan, Naomi Joan, and Charlotte-and several great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love.
Allison's family finds peace knowing she is home at last, surrounded by light and the love of those who went before her, including her best four-legged friend, the infamous Gabriel.
