Alma was a devoted wife to Oscar Alvarado, with whom he shared 55 years of love, laughter, and unwavering commitment, until his passing in early 2025. Together, they raised three children: Esperanza Gutierrez (Enrique Gutierrez Sr.), Lisbeth Alvarado (Juan Ivanoff), and Oscar Alvarado Jr. (Mariella Chaires-Alvarado).
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Claudio Gonzalez Martinez and Josefina Ballesteros de Leon. Alma's legacy continues through her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Claudio Gonzalez, Jose Carlos Gonzalez, Guillermina Garza and Maria Carolina Gonzalez Ballesteros and their families who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Alma was a loving grandmother to Ingryd Gutierrez (Dario Madrigal), Enrique Gutierrez Jr., Everardo Gutierrez, Sofia Ivanoff, Victoria Ivanoff, Alejandro Ivanoff, Oscar Alvarado III, and Octavio Alvarado. She was also a caring great-grandmother to Gianni N. Sanchez, Darely Madrigal, Dario Madrigal, and Enrique Gutierrez III.
Funeral Services
The family will be receiving guests on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Fred Dickey Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.
The chapel will open at 8:00 am for visitation, prior to departure at 10:40am. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, beginning at 11am at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
