It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Michael Alan Alvarado (Mike), who left us on September 6th, 2025, at the age of 65. Mike was born on June 2, 1960, in Clearwater, Florida. He spent his life dedicated to his family, his community, and his work.

Michael is survived by his partner Gwen Crow; his children, Joshua (Rhondi) Alvarado, Alyssa (Trever) Cochran, Jeremy Alvarado, and their mother, Sally Alvarado; his cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Maisen, Raegan and Lane; his brothers Manuel (Laurie) Alvarado Jr., and Mark (Mandy) Alvarado; many nieces, nephews, and close friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel Sr. and Judith Alvarado and his youngest brother Matthew (Matt) Alvarado.

When Mike was 9, the family moved across the country from Exeter, New Hampshire to Ontario, Oregon to pursue new opportunities. Here he attended school at Ontario High School where he graduated in 1978. Mike spent many years umpiring and coaching baseball. One of Mike's biggest passions was to spread his love of baseball through sharing his knowledge and ability to teach and develop skills of youth throughout the community.

Mike would light up a room with his enormous smile, and obnoxious laugh. He is the only person you knew was in a room without even seeing him. Mike enjoyed spending his time with kids, grandkids, friends and family. He loved to golf, camp, cook, fish and spend time with his long-time partner, Gwen. His favorite trip to take with Gwen was their annual Jackpot Golf Tournament. He loved supporting his grandkids at their sporting events. The last few years of his life he spent many hours striving to golf under his age.

In the early 1980's Mike started working for Ontario Fire Department. In 1982 he started working at United Ambulance as an EMT and later became a Paramedic. He spent most of his years working as a Paramedic with Canyon County Paramedics, he retired in 2017.

Beyond the sirens and flashing lights, Mike's most profound impact came from the human connection he made with every person in need. For 45 years, he treated each patient with dignity, kindness, and empathy, offering a comforting word and compassionate heart. Mike was not just a medic; he was a source of kindness, strength, and reassurance, leaving a powerful and lasting impression for everyone who had the privilege of crossing his path.

His celebration of life with be on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at 3:00pm, at Scotch Pines Golf Course Payette, Idaho.
