Alma L. Coffell, 95, of Troy, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at St. Peters Rehab & Health Care. She was born on January 27, 1930 in LaPlata, MO to John and Jessie (Smith) Horn. Alma grew up in Southeast, Missouri with her two brothers: Jerry and Leonard. Her life was not easy when she was young; her father was a sharecroper farmer and she helped pick cotton from the fields.

At the age of 20, she married her soulmate, Robert Coffell on July 8, 1950 in St. Louis. They were blessed with two children: Don and Doris. Alma was always a hard worker and was employed at Carter Carburator on the assembly line for over 30 years. She always wore a warm smile and had a kind word for all. Alma was a loving wife, mother and sister who will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her loving children, her son, Don Coffell of Troy, her daughter, Doris and husband Gary Hasson of Monaco; other cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Coffell on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001 and her two brothers,Jerry Horn and Leonard Horn.

Visitation scheduled from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025 at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone St., Troy, MO 63379 (1636) 528-8244.

A Memorial service to follow on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025 at 3 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy location. Rev. Dr. Jeff Moore to officiate. Inurnment at a later date.
