Alma J. Stewart, age 96, of Gladwin, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025. She was born on March 27, 1929, the daughter of Fred and Beatrice (Parcels) Varty. On November 15, 1948, Alma married the love of her life, Bruce Stewart. Together they shared decades of love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in 1992.
Alma was an active member of the Gladwin Church of the Nazarene and was the Church Treasurer for several years. She loved completing word searches and crocheting. Alma also loved bird watching, spending many hours at the kitchen table enjoying the birds.
She is survived by her children: Donald (Glenna) Stewart, Betty Stewart, Mark (Carlene) Stewart, and Carol Crawford; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Bruce; daughters: Sandra (Allan) Heier and Donna Stewart; parents: Fred and Beatrice; son-in-law: Alan Crawford; along with her 10 siblings.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and services are being planned for a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
