Thomaseen “Tomi” Kay Lewis, age 81, of Gladwin, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025. She was born on September 17, 1944, the daughter of Thomas and Jeanne (McKay) Lewis in Detroit. Tomi was employed as a Reservation Agent with United Airlines for 30 years until her retirement. On February 29, 1996 she married Michael Spear. Together they shared many years filled with love and cherished memories until he preceded her in death in April of 2025.
Tomi loved to travel. She and her husband traveled the world together and loved to take a ride down back roads to find the little gems in rural towns. She enjoyed socializing with friends and finding new ones. Tomi was a strong, admirable woman who fought for human and animal rights and cared deeply for her family.
She is survived by her children: Traci (James) Zwick-Young, Thomas (Hal Schultz) Zwick, and Brett (Lisa) Zwick; grandchildren: Jesse Zimmerman and Jason Young; and great-grandchildren: Rylan and Ayla.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and her parents.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and services are being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the World Wildlife Foundation, ASPCA.org">ASPCA.org, or your local animal shelter in honor of Tomi.
