Was thinking of sweet Alma and did a search and tearfully found this.. this woman was amazing to my best friend and I in high school! Such and inspiration and guidance. She was my best friends auntie and amazing to us! She definitely left her mark on that town and on us in such a positive way! Miss you!

I was a student to Alma in 1985 (I was 5yrs old) when I met this beautiful woman. I came from a difficult home and somehow Alma knew that. She became friends with my mother - eager to help - curious about me. She became an outlet for me. Over the years - until I was 15yrs old, i would still ride my bike to her home on the east side, I'd never call, just knock on the door to say hi, id catch up, we'd do prayers and hear her tell her stories. She had this kindness to her that made me feel like I had this special friend. Call me crazy, but she had super powers when i was a child. The ability to simply make you feel safe and loved.
I looked her up today in hopes i wouldn't find an obituary. I suppose deep down our childhood heroes aren't immortals. My heart skips a beat today. More so, i am reminded of how much she ment to me during those years.
