Almeta French, 100, of Anderson, IN, formerly of Shelbyville, died Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Anderson, IN. She was a homemaker. She was a long-time member of the Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville, KY, where she served with the St. Ann's Altar Society and supported the church's Lawn Fete. She loved gardening, canning, and enjoying the beach. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theldwood and Mary Elizabeth Crow; her husband, James French; her brothers, T. R. Crow, William Crow, Robert Crow, and John Crow; her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Olszewski and June Clare; and her grandson, Elliot French. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Lund (Jim) of Pendleton, IN; her sons, James Timothy French of Panama City Beach, FL, Richard French (Becky) of Louisville, Ronald French (Joyce) of Bardstown, David French (Charleen) of Knoxville, TN, Michael French (Janice) of De Soto, KS, and Donald French (Heather) of Louisville; her sister, Margie Vowels of Louisville; and her 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will occur 12 Noon Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Church of the Annunciation with Father Jean Gonzalez officiating. Visitation will be 1:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Shannon Funeral Home during which a Rosary Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Church of the Annunciation or Norton Children's Hospital.
