Althea Lena Jimerson-Rutledge was born on July 14, 1949 in Omaha, NE to the union of Earsy D. Jimerson and Adeline Smith-Jimerson. Althea accepted Christ at an early age under the ministry of E.T. Streetcar of Clair Memorial United Methodist Church. She attended Technical High School and graduated in 1967. She later graduated from Cosmetology School and attended Metro Community College. She married Layton C. Rutledge, Sr. on July 19, 1980. Althea worked for many years at Skinner Macaroni. As a member on Clair Memorial United Methodist Church she was involved in the United Methodist Women, Usher Board, Sunday School Teacher, Solace Committee, Guardian Angels and a Decorator of the church. She was preceded in death by her father Earsy Jimerson, mother Adeline Jimerson, son Maurice Jimerson, step-son Layton Rutledge, Jr. and brothers Irwin and Myron Jimerson. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Layton C. Rutledge, Sr., daughter Michele Jimerson, son Nakia (Monica) Jimerson, step-sons Clerence Rutledge, Ladell Reis, Damon Stevenson, step-daughter Demetria Stevenson, sister Paulette Franklin, brothers Jerome (Jane) Jimerson and Willie Jimerson, grandchildren D'Andre, Corbin, LaNeshia, Tyquisha, Trevion, Elijah, Arice, Jhamerrah, Zaraha, great-grandchild Na'Vayiah, special aunt Johanna Johnson, dear friend Myrtle Marshall, special cousin Retha Wash and a host of other relatives.
