Alva Calandrelli, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the Kingwood Healthcare Center in Kingwood, WV. Born on July 23, 1935, in Morgantown, WV, he was a son to the late Augustino Calandrelli and Lucy Pulldown Calandrelli.

Alva's life was one of dedication to his family, his country, and his community. His devotion was evident in his loving marriage of 72 years to Beatrice Louise Murray Calandrelli, with whom he built a rich tapestry of memories cherished by all who knew them. The proud father of daughters, Karie Rabagia (Rick) and Lori Calandrelli Mace (Brian). Alva instilled in his children the values of loyalty, perseverance, and compassion.

His legacy will continue to thrive through the lives of his grandchildren, Amy Shannon (Brian), Anthony Rabagia (Lauren), Sophia Mace, and Gus Mace (CC); and great-grandchildren Brayden, Avery, and Zoe who looked up to him as a mentor and hero. Alva was a brother to many, preceded in death by Marie, Martha, Jane, Louise, David, Joe, Albert, Paul, and Frankie.

Alva served his country honorably in the US Air Force, reflecting his unwavering bravery and patriotism. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career as he actively involved himself in various associations, further cementing his presence as a pillar in his community.

Known for his courage, Alva approached life's challenges with resilience and strength, setting an inspiring example for all. His absence will leave a void in the hearts of those who loved him, yet his spirit remains a comforting presence.

In accordance with Alva's wishes, McCulla Funeral Home will be overseeing cremation services. His remains will find their final resting place at the WV National Cemetery following a private service at the cemetery where full military honors will be conferred. A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
