Alvin Neal Cooper, age 63, of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 22, 2025. Neal, as he was called by those close to him, was born on December 2, 1962, in Portsmouth, Ohio to Alvin Nighton and Wanda Fern (Malone) Cooper. He was a 1981 graduate of Oak Hill High School. After high school he continued to learn, attending numerous educational facilities. He attained certifications from OTC, Rio Grande University, Ohio University, Buckeye Hills Career Center and University of Marshall - Huntington. He was employed by King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY for over 30 years, most recently as a systems analyst and lived a life of service to others. He was a certified EMT, an instructor of Advanced Life Support and a CPR instructor. He was a paramedic for SOEMS for 20 years, worked as a volunteer firefighter and served as Chief of the Oak Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
Neal is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Cathy Ann Cooper; two children, Adam Neal Cooper and Kaitlyn Noel Cooper; sister, Reda Sue Cooper; and niece, Krista Lynnette Cooper.
