Alvin D. Davis, 89, of Harrisville, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2025. Alvin was the son of the late Sheldon D. Davis and Rose Aubin Davis of Mapleville.

Alvin enlisted into the US Air Force when he was 17 years old and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1978, after 22 years and 9 months of service. He was stationed all over the U.S. but spent most of his time overseas in Vietnam, Japan and Germany.

After retirement, Alvin met the love of his life, Patricia McAnulty at the Ancient and Horribles parade on the steps of the Stagecoach Tavern. Alvin and Patricia shared 43 years together before her passing in 2023,which left him a heartbroken man.

Alvin and Patricia were huge New England Patriot and Boston Red Sox fans. They spent many early Springs in Florida for Spring training. They loved to dine out and travel and spent a lot of time seeing the beautiful sites of this country.

Alvin was very active in his community on Jefferson Road in Harrisville, always lending a helping hand to his neighbors and making lots of friends along the way. He would snow blow walkways/driveways, reorganize the recycling and trim trees, just to mention a few of his good deeds. In return, his loyal neighbors always checked in on him and helped him any way they could as his health started to decline, even if it was just turning on his favorite television show, Gunsmoke, and offering their company. He would often talk about his military adventures to anyone willing to listen...and there were many.

Alvin was preceded in death by his brothers, John Bazinet and Melvin Davis, as well as his beloved sister, Beverly A. (Davis) Howard. He leaves behind a brother, William Bazinet, many nieces and nephews and his partner's children: Diane, Cathleen and Sharon.

A private graveside service with Military Honors for Alvin will be held in Acotes Cemetery, Chepachet.
