He was born in Louisville to Alvin Jennings Scifres and Joyce M. Miller Scifres Blanton. He was a proud Army veteran and electrical engineer. After serving in the United States Army he worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Pepsico and Consolidated Freight Service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Lucas Scifres, father, Alvin Jennings Scifres, daughter, Chari Christine Scifres, maternal grandparents, Malcolm and Christine Miller, and aunt, Ruth Montet.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce M. Blanton of Sonora, KY, daughter, Kelly (Kristopher) Seay of Louisville, KY, step daughter, Stephanie Lee of Hardinsburg, KY, step son, Bryan (Sarah) Lee of Oakland, KY, Three brothers, Neal (Alice) Scifres of Shepardsville, KY, Curt (Donna) Scifres of Coxs Creek, KY, Christopher (Carolina) Blanton of Cincinnati, OH, two step brothers, Rodney Blanton of Lexington, KY, Kevin Blanton of Lanesville, IN, six grandchildren, Magnolia, Ethan, Omar, Paige, Braylen, Addison, two great grandchildren, Kylo, and Miley.
Funeral Services will be held Friday June 20, 2025 12:00 noon at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora, KY with Bro. Neal Scifres officiating. Burial will be held at the High Plains Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora.
