Lowell Ordale Richardson, 76, of Sonora, Kentucky, went to his heavenly home on October 15, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones at Baptist Health in Elizabethtown.
Born on April 24, 1949, to the late Lapsley and Mary Lorene Richardson, Lowell was one of many children. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Richardson, and his son, Travis Richardson.
Lowell is survived by his four children: Michelle Richardson, Lowell (Angie) Richardson Jr. of Cecilia, KY, Rebekah (Richard) Meredith of Elizabethtown, KY, and Amy (Jason) Thomas of Ekron, KY. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his significant other, Alvena, who remained by his side with love and care.
Lowell worked for 18 years at Radcliff Concrete and another 18 years at The News-Enterprise.
Known on the CB radio as "Maverick," he never met a stranger and was always up for a good laugh, a good meal, & a good bottle of Vitalis hair tonic. He could often be found sitting on his front porch, waving to every car that passed by-a simple gesture that perfectly captured his friendly and welcoming spirit.
Lowell was ready to meet Jesus, and his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday October 21, 2025 11:00 am at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora, KY with Rev. Don Flanigan officiating. Burial will be held at the White Mills Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm or Tuesday 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora.
