Louise Cruse Obituary

She was a woman of deep faith and a treasured wife, mother, and Meme who loved her family fiercely. But to those who knew her best, she was a baker of magical chocolate chip cookies, the epitome of elegance and grace, and a source of unconditional love. She loved watching her hummingbirds, enjoyed cooking for others, and often stayed up past her bedtime reading. But her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A longtime resident of Upton, Kentucky, Louise spent her lifetime serving others. She was a nurturing homemaker and active member of Upton Baptist Church. She was dearly loved by her community and church family and could often be found volunteering for VBS and manning the kitchen for various church events.
She is proceeded in death by her husband, Wesley Cruse, son, Tony Cruse, and brothers Kenneth Peebles and Huston Peebles.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Terri (Gerald) Cox; 5 grandchildren, Briana (Nathan) Fulghum, Kelsey (Nicholas) Duke, Lori (Jason) French, Ethan (Jamie) Cox, and Kayla (George) Altman; 9 great-grandchildren, Kaden, Weston, Cruse, Coralyn, Brooks, Caroline, Lee, Ella, and Cooper; Daughter-in-law, Cindy Cruse, her sister, Charlene Pence, and brother, Randall Peebles. As well as many other family and friends.
The funeral service for Louise will be held Wednesday October 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Upton Baptist Church in Upton, KY With Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will be held at the Upton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm At the Manakee Funeral Home in Upton and at the Upton Baptist Church Wednesday 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Upton Baptist Church, 511 College Street, Upton, Kentucky.
