Alvin T. Wireman, 69, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center with his family by his side.
Alvin was born on June 8, 1955, in Lima, Ohio to the late Amos and Dorise (Hale) Wireman. On August 27, 1977, he married Kathryn (Tippie) Wireman, who survives in Lima.
Alvin retired from Ohio Steel as a Heat Craneman. He was a loving husband, dad, and papaw. Alvin also loved hunting and fishing. In his younger days, he enjoyed working on cars and dune buggies. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Alvin was up for a good time.
He is survived by his children, Joshua Wireman, Carrie McPheron (Wireman), and Matthew Wireman (Tonya); grandchildren, Trey, Austin, Alysa (James), Abigail, and Kathryn; great-grandchildren, Eli, Carolyn, Ezra, and Jay; and sister, Vonda Wireman; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a son-in-law, John McPheron; brothers, Donald and Roger Wireman; and in-laws, Robert and Florine Tippie.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Dickie McKeever will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make A Wish Foundation.
