Alvis LaVoy Douglas, known affectionately as Stoney, was born on April 9, 1948, in Glen Rose, Texas. He peacefully transitioned from this life on September 16, 2025. Alvis was a lifelong resident of Glen Rose and was loved by all who were fortunate to know him.

Alvis spent his time pursuing his passions. In his youth, he loved flying small aircrafts and horseback riding. As he grew older, he found joy in playing golf and became a familiar sight sitting on his front porch, waving to all who passed by. He was also a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Alvis is survived by his sister, Dimple Douglas-Wilson, and brother, Charles Douglas. He also leaves behind three nieces, one great-niece, two nephews, and one great-nephew.

Alvis was preceded in death by his mother, Ora Douglas; father, Cecil Douglas; brother, Marva Douglas; and son, Rickey Douglas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Wiley Funeral Home, located at 504 Holden Street, Glen Rose, Texas, 76043.

A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Nancy Smith Cemetery in Glen Rose.

All services are under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home- Glen Rose.

Alvis' family would like to invite all who knew and loved him to leave memories and upload photos on his memorial page.
