Alynda M Salmon

Alynda Marie Salmon, 62, of Jug Point Rd., Durhamville, passed away on Friday morning, January 30, 2026, at her home after a brief illness.

She was born on March 25, 1963, in Rome, the daughter of Bernard W. and Delaine (Wilcox) Metott. Alynda was a 1981 graduate of Camden High School.

On November 22, 1980, Alynda was united in marriage to the love of her life, Mark A. Salmon.

Alynda was the kind of woman who never stopped moving, never stopped caring, and never stopped putting her family first. She proudly served the Federal Government for thirty-six years as an accounting technician with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), retiring in 2025. Throughout her career, she was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic, qualities that defined every part of her life.

As a military spouse, Alynda balanced the demands of service life with grace and resilience, always ensuring her family was supported, grounded, and loved. She was a true mom in every sense of the word. She rarely sat down, always doing, always caring, and always making sure everyone else comes first. Her home was one of constant motion, comfort, and unconditional love.

Alynda also knew how to cheer loudly and love fiercely. She was an avid fan of the New York Mets, the New York Jets, and NASCAR, never missing a chance to root for her teams and share in the excitement of the game or the race.

Surviving besides her loving husband, Mark, and her mother, Delaine Metott, of Kirkville; are four children, Mark (Bri) Salmon II, of Camden, Sara Salmon (Paul Graziano), of Rome, Klaudia Salmon (Aaron Findlay), of Camden, and Kelsea (Mike) Dyer, of Ava; seven beloved grandchildren, Angelo Graziano, Nikko Graziano, Aubrey Salmon, Grady Salmon, Emi Salmon, Carsyn Cullings, and Eva Dyer; her siblings, Dwayne (Mary Kay) Metott, of Rome, Keith Metott, of Camden, and Brenda (John) Lewis, of Taberg; her in-laws, Allan and Marie Salmon, of Mesquite, NV; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cindy (Gary) Gibbons, of Sherrill, Marty (Colleen) Salmon, of Akron, NY, and Mike (Barb) Salmon, of Taberg; and many nieces and nephews. Alynda was predeceased by her father, Bernard W. Metott on March 3, 2011.

The family extends a heartfelt and special thank you to the Durhamville Volunteer Fire Department, especially Fire Chief Eric Wilcox, for their care, compassion, and support. Deep appreciation is also given to the New York State Troopers, especially her nephew, Trooper Dustin Lewis, for their kindness and professionalism during a difficult time.

A private celebration of Alynda's life will be held at the convenience of her family. There are no public calling hours at this time.
