Alyse Jones Shaffer

Alyse Jones Shaffer, 80, of Susquehanna Township, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at UPMC Community General Osteopathic Hospital.

She was born on June 6, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late I. Robert and Alyse E. (Clever) Jones.

She had many jobs during her life, but the position Alyse was most proud of was her time as an instructor at Harrisburg Area Community College where taught the Administrative Office Specialist program.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling on a weekly basis, crafting, listening to music, was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Most of all Alyse loved her two grandchildren and being a grandmother to them.

Surviving are two sons; David A. Shaffer and his wife, Jennifer of Harrisburg, Robert W. Shaffer and his wife, Amy of Annapolis, MD, a brother, David R. Jones and his wife, Bonnie, of Vinton, VA, a sister, Dorothy Wise and her husband, Martin of Harrisburg, two grandchildren; Riley Shaffer, Cameron Shaffer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
