Amado Ramos, nicknamed "Giffo", 89 of Ventura, Ca passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024. He was born in the city of Ventura to Salvadore and Marina Ramos on September 5, 1934.
He graduated from Ventura High School in 1953. He dedicated his career serving the public working for the federal government for 27 years. Beyond his professional life, Amado found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a green thumb and was an avid gardener, from vegetables to the extreme of delveloping new flowers by grafting or pollinating two different flowers of the same family. Crafting each individual flower with precision and care. When not out in the garden he could often be found on the golf course (often with his younger brother Louie) enjoying a cigar and camaraderie of the game, coaching baseball when his boys were young, camping, bowling, and taking leisurely walks on the beach. He leaves behind cherished memories and will be deeply
missed by all that knew him.
Amado is survived by his former spouse Lupe Ramos, his two sons: Michael (spouse Toni) and Mark (spouse Sally), his only sibling sister Rachel Larralde ( spouse Manual),
his five grandchildren Carissa, Paul (spouse Madeline), Briana, Rachelle (spouse Trey) and Zachary (fiancé Nikki), and his four great-grandchildren Shane, Athan, Dorian,
Asteria.
He is preceded in death by his sister Mary Baker, brothers; Raoul Ramos, Henry Ramos, Bill Ramos, Louie Ramos, and Charlie Ramos.
The family also would like to extend their gratitude to the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ventura.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Wednesday evening April 10, 2024 from 5 to 8pm in the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY & CREMATION, 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura. Funeral services will then be held on Thursday April 11, 2024 at 1pm in the Mortuary, followed immediately by interment in the Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. at 2pm.
