Amalia Ruiz, 84, entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 15, 2025, in Roswell, New Mexico. Please take a moment to share kind thoughts or memories with Amalia's family at www.andersonbethany.com. There will be a viewing held on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a funeral service held the following day on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, 10:00 AM, both held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory with an interment to follow services at South Park Cemetery. Amalia was born on October 6, 1940, in Lovington, New Mexico, to Amalio and Frances Sanchez. Amalia married the love of her life, Segundo Ruiz, and together they shared one son, Amalio Ruiz. A dedicated housewife, who loved her family with all her being, who loved being home and spending time with Amalio. A good woman, who enjoyed a delicious meal, with a mouth that would never leave you second guessing how she felt about you, good or bad. She also loved to dance the night away with her late husband and cheer on the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays. Those left to cherish their memories of Amalia are her son, Amalio Ruiz; siblings: Irma Maldonado and Rosemary Springer; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved chihuahua, Patches. Amalia is preceded in death by her husband, Segundo Ruiz; parents, Amalio and Francisca Sanchez; siblings: Martin Sanchez, Maxine Ignacia-Sosa, Frances Espinosa, Patsy Hepner, Jaunita Gonzalez, and Eva Aguero. Those honored to carry Amalia to her final resting place will be Jeff Aguero, Steve Aguero, Steve Ruiz, and David Solis. Amalia's son would like to extend a special thank you to the following: to the staff at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory, the Comfort Keepers team, Sujey Sanchez, and Karen Morgan Boothen, her care coordinator from Presbyterian. "Thank you all for the excellent care in taking care of my mom." In addition, thank you to my family and friends who have called to ask if I need anything.
