Helen Barton

Helen Barton was born December 9, 1955, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Lester and Opal Burnes. She passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025. Helen was happiest as a housewife and mother. She married Henry Barton on October 3, 1972. Henry and Helen welcomed their only child, Charlotte Ann Marie Barton, who brought them much joy. Helen is preceded in death by her father, Alex Lester Burnes; her mother, Opal Marie Burnes; her husband, Henry Barton; her daughter, Charlotte Ann Marie Barton; brothers: Monroe Thomas Burnes, and Willie Leo Burnes Sr.; and her sister, Nancy Viola Hardcastle. She is survived by one sister, Elveita Buckner and brother-in-law, Leon Buckner; one sister-in-law, Georgia Gates; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Helen loved her family unconditionally and the love she shared was heartfelt and evident. Helen was one of those people who would help anyone who needed it. Her sweet spirit and generosity were shared with those she thought needed any help. A viewing will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory on August 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, with graveside services to follow at 12:00 PM, at South Park Cemetery.
