All three of us Roddy girls thought Amanda hung the moon. She was the "big girl" who lived down the street who we looked up to and admired. Each of us wanted to be just like her. I remember that she was the cutest cheerleader and that she had just the best laugh. We were proud to know her. My sisters and I will miss her forever.

I have known Amanda since we were in 1st grade together at Southern University Lab School. We probably received 1st Communication and Confirmation together at Immaculate Conception Church in Scotlandville. Amanda was one of the best people I´ve ever known. I admired her kind, considerate and compassionate personality. Her laughter and indomitable spirit will be missed. I´m blessed to have had her as a friend. My condolences to the family.

I am recalling Amanda as one of the older girls at the Lab School that we younger ones looked up to. She was cute and small but had a big spirit that was not going to be outshone nor run over. Later I worked with her part time at a children's camp. The kids loved her and she didn't let them get away with foolishness. Tough as she was, they knew she loved them, too. Whenever I would see her or Jonathan, whom I also admire, it was always a joy. Jonathan, I pray that you and your family are comforted in God's promises in this time of temporary separation--in Jesus's name.
