Amanda Nicole Melton

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Amanda Nicole Melton, who left us on Friday, December 12, 2025. Amanda was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. Born on Wednesday, July 22, 1987 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Beth Hudson. Amanda was 38 years old at the time of her passing. On January 2, 2009, she married the love of her life, Terry Melton, and he survives. She resided in Sandoval, IL, where she built a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth.

Amanda was a proud graduate of Vandalia High School. She dedicated herself to her work and community, contributing significantly as a Direct Support Professional at Carlyle Health Care. Her compassion and kindness extended through her work at H&R Block, where she aided countless individuals with their financial needs. She was a member of Crossroads Church in Centralia, where she had a passion to help with the Christmas Drive every year. Amanda will always be remembered for her warm spirit, her dedication to her family, and her unwavering kindness. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Melton, and their four cherished children: Connor, Carter, Natalie, and Kaleb, all of Sandoval. Amanda is also survived by her devoted parents, Thomas and Mary Beth Hudson of Vandalia, and her siblings: Stacey Cox and husband Eli of Vandalia, Katrina Hudson of Vandalia, Chris Cook of Centralia, Michael Cook of Edwardsville, and Maria Hoard of Salem. She will be dearly missed by her in-laws, Thomas and Clare Tate of Junction City; her sister-in-law, Jennifer Simmons and husband Garland of Salem; brothers-in-law, Gary Schuchmann of Salem, Nick Tate of Wamac, and Chris Melton of Salem; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Amanda was preceded in death by her sister, Eva Kay Stanley, whose memory she held close to her heart.

Amanda's life will be celebrated at a service on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Crossroads Church in Centralia.
