SWANTON – Amanda Jean Reagan, age 48, passed away peacefully June 4th, 2025 with her loving family by her side in Cleveland, Ohio.
She was born January 24th, 1977, in St. Albans, VT to the late Nancy (Reagan) Steinarsson and Richard Hobb.
Amanda was known to be one of a kind. She enjoyed the simple things in life and never let anything bother her. She had a big smile and a heart bigger than life itself and would help anyone in need. She had a very strong work ethic throughout her life and met many whom loved her instantly. Amanda was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She loved music and loved it loud. Amanda was known as “Queenie” to her parents and “Nuna” by all of her family and friends. All of our memories will forever be cherished.
Amanda is survived by her husband of 9 years, David Bruley; her son, Philip Katon and his fiancé Sarah Dailey and her children; step-father and cherished man who played a vital role in Amanda’s life as a parent, Hafsteinn Steinarsson; her father, Richard Hobb and his wife Sandra; sisters, Michelle St. Francis and her husband Richard Sr., and Keirsten Nulph; brother,Tyler Hobb and grandchildren, Patrick Katon, whom she proudly shared a birthday with, and Preston Katon; nieces that were like her own daughters, Taylor Real and her husband Brady, Eliza St. Francis, and Angel Katon; nephew, Brandon Martin and his fiancé Chloe Comstock; great nieces & nephew, Ariauna Real, Adeline Real, Journey Levesque, and Jamari Katon; step-son, Brandon Ritchie; special aunts & uncles, Thordis Tatro, Maurice Tatro, Thor Bruyette and his wife Carol, and Daniel Bruyette; step nieces & nephew, who she cared for as children, Tamika Raymond, Kristy St. Francis, and Richard St. Francis Jr. (She was given the name now known by many “Nuna” by Richard Jr.); special god son Trent Boomhower; her life-long friend, Matt Boomhower; fur babies, Zebby, and Zeus; and many more close and dear friends whom she loved with all of her heart.
Amanda was predeceased by her mother, Nancy Steinarsson; maternal grandparents, Norman & Catherine Reagan; paternal grandparents, William & Bertha Hobb; grandparents, Audur & Thomas Bruyette; god mother, Carol Paige; and special friend, Matty T.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canada Street, Swanton, VT.
For those who wish, contributions in Amanda’s memory may be made to the children’s hospital, or the Abenaki of Missisquoi.
