Amelia Salinas Cortez 68 of George West passed away and gained her angel wings Wednesday Jan. 15, 2025 in a San Antonio Methodist Hospital following an extended illness. She was born Sept. 1, 1956 to Francisco & Andrea Salinas in Beeville. She was employed with Pam Stapleton & the GW Boys & Girls Club for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Francisco & Andrea Salinas, 3 brothers Marcial Guajardo, Francisco Salinas Jr. & Louis(Big Lou) Salinas. Her in laws Gilbert & Beatrice Cortez, sister in law Elvia Banda.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years Gilbert Cortez Jr, her son Randy Cortez, her daughter Diana (Mark) Webb all from George West. 4 grandchildren who were her Pride & Joy Dillon, Cayline, Ashley, Amber, 1 brother Manuel (Brenda) Salinas from San Antonio, 3 sisters Maria (Carl) Keytich from George West, Odilia (Juan) Salazar from Three Rivers, Oralia (Santana Paiz) Salinas from George West.
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who Love and will Miss her Dearly.
She was a Devoted and Faithful member of Monte de Olivo Church in Three Rivers for many years.
The funeral viewing will be from 12:00 - 8:00pm on Saturday 18, 2025 with the service at 5:00pm. The burial will be at 10:00am on Sunday Jan, 19, 2025 at the Oakville Cemetery.
Funeral entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home of Three Rivers, Texas.
