It was with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Amy Meadows, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Amy was born at Piedmont Hospital July 26th, 1962 in Atlanta Georgia, to George Meadows and Bet Jennings, as the oldest of three daughters. She spent her childhood years in Monroe, Georgia where she attended Monroe Primary School and was an active member of St. Stephen's Church, where her father served as the Methodist Minister. When she was 11, the family moved to Atlanta for good.
From a young age, Amy loved music, in particular many of the church hymns sung on a weekly basis at St. Stephens. Amy was known for her intellect, wit, beauty, and sense of humor. She excelled in high school, and on the weekends could be found on the basketball court or out on the football field as a member of the Shamrock High School Drill team.
After graduation, Amy attended the University of Georgia where she found her lifelong love for the Georgia Bulldogs. After her college days, she worked for United Airlines where she had the opportunity to also develop a love for travel, visiting different parts of the US, Europe, and Mexico.
Throughout her life, Amy was a woman of many passions. She loved spending time outdoors, whether it was horseback riding, relaxing by the pool, or cheering on her beloved Georgia football team. Her love for animals, especially her dogs, was evident in her daily life. She treasured her time with family and friends, always making sure to surround herself with those who brought her joy.
Amy was blessed with three children, who she loved more than anything in the world. Her family grew with the addition of nieces, nephews, and most recently, a granddaughter in 2023, who became the light of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Amy leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, humor, and adventure. She is survived by her father, George Meadows, three beautiful children, Cameron Bramble, Haley Bramble, and Kenzie Durst, granddaughter Bailey Bramble, sisters, Paige Furr, and Leigh Harting.
A celebration of her life will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons Chapel, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur, Georgia 30033 on September 7th, 2025.
