Mr. James Edward Deas III passed from this life in May, 2025 at age 73. He graduated from Newton County High School and attended Truitt McConnell College where he was captain of the golf team. He continued his education at the University of Georgia. He was employed by Hercules, Inc. in Covington, GA. Edward Deas was an avid, competitive golfer. He was also an enthusiastic University of Georgia Bulldogs fan, as well as a fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team and the NFL. He was the oldest son of James E. Deas Jr. and Lois Deas, long time members of First United Methodist Church in Covington, GA. Mr. Deas is survived by a brother Tom Deas and wife Teresa Deas, sister Jan Deas, and nieces Kelly Carcamo and Laura Espeut. Ed Deas was loved by family and friends.
