Amelia Erf Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 30, 2025.
Amelia Ann Erf (nee Marquess), 79, passed away on December 27th, 2025 at her
home in Smyrna, Tennessee. Ann was born in 1946 in Hopkinsville, KY and was the only child of Audrey & Earl Marquess, who preceded her in death in 1997 & 1976, respectively.
A graduate of Christian County High School (1964), Ann spent her life surrounded by music, teaching others to play piano and organ. Early on, Ann was very much involved in her church's music program, sharing her passion with others. She continued this work throughout most of her life, even while managing her family and working in business in her hometown of Hopkinsville. Ann's marriage to her high school sweetheart (1965) brought her three beautiful children and the family she longed for.
After that marriage ended, she met a man who she would spend the majority of her adult life with, a man who encouraged and supported her musical talent. With him, she would travel to various churches and venues, spreading the love and word of God via song with The Believers Quartet.
Once that dream ran its course, Ann met the man she loved the most, James Erf.
Though they lived hundreds of miles apart, they found a way to meet in person. Their love blossomed and they married in 2005, settling in Mansfield, OH.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Lori Greis (Ken), daughter Lisa Miller, son Adam Harrison (Amy), cousin Judy Flagg (Aubrey) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2025 at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Hopkinsville, KY.
