It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Amelia "Mea" Rose Fraser, who left us unexpectedly on September 15, 2025.
Amelia was an abundantly joyful free spirit who left her print on the world and laughter in the hearts of those she loved.
She is survived by her father, Lincoln Todd (Vickie) Fraser; her brother, Lincoln Benjamin Fraser; her uncle and aunt, Marvin and Toni (Fraser) Swindall; and numerous cousins, including Sarah and Charlotte (Fraser) Hinton and Taylor (Bryce) Anderson, with whom she was especially close.
In addition to her relatives, Amelia leaves behind her chosen family - her dearest friends Amanda Grubaugh, Sara White, and Britt White, along with their children Arya, Callum, and Cayde White. She also cherished her beloved dog, Dori, who was her loyal companion for nearly 14 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sheryl (Springer) Fraser; her maternal grandparents, Glenn and Melba (Woods) Springer; and her paternal grandparents, Lincoln and Gloria (Purdy) Fraser.
Born on October 2, 1991, in Danville, Indiana, to Lincoln Todd Fraser and Sherryl Ann (Springer) Fraser, Amelia blossomed into a remarkably social, bright, and compassionate young woman.
Her greatest joy in life was being a big sister to her beloved little brother and birthday twin, Ben, a bond she cherished deeply. Amelia strove to be a role model and someone Ben could always depend on, guiding him with love, encouragement, and unwavering support.
She graduated from East Knox High School in 2010, where she left her mark not only as an active and spirited member of the marching band and color guard but also as a student of exceptional intelligence and academic achievement.
Amelia shared a lifelong friendship with her best friend, Sara, a bond that began in childhood and grew stronger through every stage of life, filled with laughter, adventures, and unwavering support.
As an adult, Amelia truly exemplified what it means to walk one's own path, building a career, home, and community that reflected her unique spirit. She worked at Ariel Corp in Mt. Vernon for nearly a decade, where she formed many meaningful relationships that she cherished deeply, including her dear friend and confidant Mandy.
Confident, charismatic, often hilarious, and profoundly empathetic, she dedicated her life to uplifting and serving those she loved.
Amelia cared deeply for her mother, accompanying her through the challenges of Huntington's disease and filling her days with joy, laughter, and special moments - including an unforgettable trip to see an Elvis impersonator. She provided tender care and companionship for her grandmother Fraser in her final years, her gentle strength a constant presence that steadied and comforted those around her. She supported her brother Ben as he grew into the remarkable person he is today and strove to be a role model he could always rely on.
Amelia's home was always open to friends and loved ones, a welcoming sanctuary where joy, laughter, and warmth were abundant.
Beyond her kind and giving heart, Amelia lived life to the fullest. She embarked on countless adventures with her close friends and their children, turning ordinary days into extraordinary memories - from concerts to playful everyday escapades, including her famously epic Costco trips.
Her spirit will be remembered though the memories her friends & family will forever cherish and the love they shared.
A celebration of Amelia's life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Snyder-Lasater Funeral Home on 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mt. Vernon. Calling hours will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, with a short memorial service to follow at 6:00 PM.
