Obituary published on Legacy.com by Trevino Funeral Home - Beeville on Feb. 10, 2026.
Amelia (Garcia) Hernandez, 88, entered eternal rest on February 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was peacefully called home to the Lord after a life deeply rooted in faith, love and service. A devoted Catholic, Amelia's unwavering trust in God guided her throughout her life. She was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church and member of the Cursillistas, living her faith through prayer, kindness and compassion for others.

Amelia was born January 6, 1938, in Clareville, Texas, to Agapito and Veronica Garcia. After retiring, she embraced each day as a blessing, finding joy in family gatherings, quiet moments of prayer and the simple pleasures of life. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion and unconditional love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Agapito and Veronica Garcia; her husband, Reynaldo Hernandez; her infant sister, Adelaida Garcia; her brothers, Aurelio, Erasmo, Hector and Ramiro Garcia; her sisters, Ofelia Garcia and Mary Delia Ocana; her daughter, Mary Jane Ramos; her son, Joe Edward Falcon; her sons-in-law, Hector Arrisola, Richard Crenshaw and Donald Wesley Bonham Jr.; her grandson, Enrique "Henry" Ocana Jr.; and her great-grandson, Gage Salazar.

Left behind to cherish fond memories include her daughters, Norma Arrisola, Bellinda Crenshaw, Diana (Juan) Paiz and Terri Vidaure; her brother, Oliver Garcia; brother-in-law, Oscar Hernandez; sisters-in-law, Julia Garcia and Olivia Hernandez; and her son-in-law, Genaro Arrisola.

Amelia's enduring legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Mario Ocana, Mary Jane Ocana (Robert), Mark Ocana (Hannah), Dawn Cuevas (Jason), Jaime Arrisola, ReVae Crenshaw, Rikki Crenshaw, Michael Ramos (Sara), Erica Rodriguez, Darlin Nichols (Austin), Maranda Camareno and Amanda Camareno; along with 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family of Amelia Hernandez extends heartfelt gratitude to her nieces, Mari Grace Cuellar, Ofie Burgos, Nurse Shannon Pena, Dr. Calica and Exclusive Home Health & Hospice for their compassionate care, kindness and caring support, which brought comfort and peace to Amelia and her family.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2026, at Trevino Funeral Home in Beeville with the Rosary to be recited at 7 o'clock.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jacob Valayath officiating. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.
