Amelia M. Paramo of Oxford died peacefully surrounded by loved ones, June 12, 2025 at the age of 92. Amelia was born in Pontiac, Michigan and the dear daughter of the late Louisa (late Antonio) Rubio and Salvador-Mendez. The beloved wife of Manuel for sixty-one years; wonderful mother of Denise (late Michael) Sullivan, Kim (John) Wolfrum, Sylvana Paramo, and Jacqueline Paramo; proud Gagam of 8, great-Gagam of 13, and great-great-Gagam of 3. Survived by her dear sister Elvita (Richard) Foster; sister-in-law, Patricia Rubio; preceded in death by siblings: Anita (Leo) Placencia, Rudy (Lil) Mendez, Teresa (Gus) Alcala, Amparo (Frank) Ortega, and Anthony Rubio. Beloved aunt and godmother to many nieces, nephews, and other children.
Amelia was a world traveler. Her and Manuel went everywhere from Italy, Brazil, France, England, went down the Amazon, Mexico, Canada; they saw everything. Her and Manuel loved to dance, they were always found on the dance floor to the delight of onlookers. She worked forty-seven years for Stanley Door. She loved to crochet and knit, often making blankets, scarves, doilies, and tablecloths for family and friends, gifts we will forever treasure. When her children were younger, Amelia was a member of the Women's Guild at St. Vincent DePaul in Pontiac. She was known for her lavish style and impeccable taste. She loved music, everything from Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, The Beatles, Neil Diamond, and especially her Mexican music. She was one of the best cooks, known for enchiladas. But the most important thing to her was her family. She loved to spend time with her daughters, her sisters, her brothers, her grand-children, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; she never missed a chance to be with her family.
