Amelia Vicencio, known as Nanay to those closest to her, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on May 5, 1946, in the Philippines, Amelia's life was a testament to love and the joy of family. Amelia was the cherished wife of the late Irineo (Toto) Vicencio Jr., with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and devotion. Together, they built a family founded on the principles of love and compassion. Amelia lives on through her beloved children, Susan, Joel, Sharon, and Shiela, and her adoring grandchildren, Joselle, Jhiel, Joshua, Tyler, Sean Paul, Arielle, Abigail, Liam, RJ, JC and Jorics. She was also a dear sister and a loving aunt, whose kindness and warmth extended beyond her immediate family to touch the lives of her siblings, nieces, and nephews. A woman of remarkable warmth and generosity, Amelia was the epitome of an easygoing and loving spirit. She navigated life's challenges with grace and always placed the needs of her family above her own. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she made sure everyone was well-fed and happy, often while enjoying her favorite Filipino shows. Amelia's ability to make anyone feel welcome and loved was unparalleled, and she leaves behind a void that cannot be filled. Amelia's absence leaves an immeasurable gap in the lives of those who knew her, but her spirit, love, and lessons will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She was a guiding light, a source of comfort, and a symbol of unconditional love. Visitation will be held on April 12, 2024, at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge, IL, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Service at 6:00 p.m. Info 847-685-1002 www.cooneyfuneralhome.com
