Aminderjit Singh Gakhal

Aminderjit Singh ("Roop") Gakhal, of Irvine, CA, passed away on October 18, 2023. Roop was born in India to Hardip and Dasondh Gakhal, and moved to California with his family shortly after his birth. During his high school years, his family relocated to Connecticut, where he lived until college.
Roop graduated from SUNY Albany with his bachelor's degree, after which he married and had three children. After the birth of his third child, Roop and his family moved back to California. Everyone who knew Roop was not surprised by this move, as they all knew of his love for the Golden State.
Roop owned and operated several businesses and enjoyed hiking, tennis, the ocean, working out and spending time with his three children. He was a social butterfly who made friends wherever he went. His sense of humor was unparallelled and he always had a joke for every occasion.
Roop is survived by his parents, Hardip Gakhal and Dasondh Gakhal; his sister, Sona Sekhon; his wife, Manjot Gakhal; and his children: Ranvir Gakhal, Arjan Gakhal, and Mannat Gakhal.
Private funeral services for immediate family and close friends will be held on Saturday, October 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT. Cremation to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
