We sadly inform you that Amos Eugene Hatch’s work here is done. He was a wonderful Father, Brother, Grandpa and devoted friend. We will miss his sense of humor, belly laughs, mischievous pranks, kind and generous heart.

His new adventure is going to be a whole different ball game compared to his days mixing propellant at the Rocket Factory. Those late nights milking cows, baling hay, and dealing with pesky mosquitoes while irrigating. Not to mention tearing down old buildings and telephone poles to make numerous additions to the family farm and home. His days driving the taxi shuttle at Thiokol, working as the head Janitorial Engineer for Vulcraft, and being a camp host in Washington and Ogden, all of where he met many of you.

This year he gets to spend a pain free Thanksgiving and Christmas with his parents Helgar Packer and Sylvia Johnson Hatch, his son Curtis Amos Hatch, grandkids Jared Curt Hatch, Camille Ann Hatch, Kevin Randall Hatch, Siblings, old friends and all of the ice cream he can eat.

Many children had to pack a spare set of clothes when they headed to Grandpa Amos’ spending hours chasing or getting chased by geese, turkeys, chihuahuas, cats, chickens, rabbits, peacocks, pot belly pigs, horses, miniature ponies, donkeys, mules and drinking sodas with his beloved Longhorn TEX. The bonus was when Grandpa helped you sneak one home.

Amos raised six wonderful children alongside Connie LaRae Walters they are their PRIDE and JOY Curtis Amos Hatch (Mary and Joe Taylor) of Brigham, Judy Ann (Joe) Reardon of Syracuse, Randal Packer (Leone) Hatch of Petersboro, Patricia (Pete) Clawson of Corinne, Bradley Mark (Donna) Hatch of Brigham and “the spoiled baby” Denton Paul (Trudi) Hatch of Tremonton. If you entered his life you were family. Marci, Lisa and Doug children of Judy Kay Hebdon Mattson, Marcene Humphreys Hatch and her children Corey and Chad.

He entered this life on February 6, 1936, spending most of his life on the farm in Corinne. Graduating from Box Elder High School where he was a State Champion wrestler, a Golden Glove Boxer and FFA President. His early married life took him to Sand Point, Idaho and Benson, Utah. After years of Hard work on the farm he found time to focus on his woodworking. Mastering Benches, Birdhouses, Ducks, Beer Can Surprises, Beds, Rocking Chairs, Picture Frames and much more that he shared with family and friends. Crystal Hot Springs eased his aches and pains but the best part was he walked out with many new friends. “Coffee” with the boys at JD’s Diner and shooting the breeze about the Good Old Days.

Surrounded by loved ones, embracing his covenants he peacefully returned home to his eternal family on November 19, 2024. We know this is incredibly sad news for the many who will miss him. Thank you for the care of the incredible staff at The Gables in Brigham City, Hospice, and Dr. Lance Barker.

We would like to invite all who loved him to join us at his home ward 2335 N 4000 W Corinne, Utah on Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
