On Saturday, August 30, 2025, God saw that Amos Reed, Jr. had grown tired of this old world and called him home to be with the Lord.

Amos Reed was born on March 4, 1961, in Folkston, Georgia, to the late Amos Reed Sr. and Ora Lee Brown. He was educated in the Charlton County School System and spent many years working at Roblaw. Always one to stay busy, he also washed cars on the side, bringing his signature charm and hustle wherever he went.

Affectionately known as "Longhorn" and "Van", Amos was a man full of personality. He loved walking, dancing, "talking trash," riding in the front seat with his shades on, and-above all-spending time with his family and friends. His vibrant spirit and good-natured humor made him unforgettable to all who knew him. Amos was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church, where he proudly served on the Usher Board for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora Lee Brown and Amos Reed Sr.; his son, Quint Reed; and his brother, Michael Reed.

To carry on his legacy, Amos leaves behind his loving stepmother, Helen Muldrow-Reed; five brothers: Steve Reed of Tampa, FL; Tony (Patrinkel) Maxwell, Adam (Ceterial) Reed, Kirk (Tami) Reed, and Ken (Danita) Reed, all of Jacksonville, FL; and three sisters: Lawanda (Robert) Middleton of Middletown, CT; LaShawnda (Terrance) Clemons, and Lakeisha Williams, both of Kingsland, GA; his aunts, Ruby Mitchell, Emma Lee Brown, Johnnette Brown and Nikki Brown; five uncles: Aldonia (Mary) Reed, Cecil (Vivian) Reed, Kenneth Reed, William (Gloria) Brown and Steve (Marilyn) Smiley; a very dear friend, Reginald Garard of Folkston, GA; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends who will miss him dearly. Amos lived life with love, laughter, and loyalty-and he will forever remain in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 @ 3:00 pm at St. Matthews Baptist Church, 116 6th Street, Folkston, Ga. 31537

Repast will be held following services at 168 Dixie Lake Road, Folkston, Ga.
