Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Matthews Funeral Home for Mr. Amoson Marcantel, Jr., 67, who passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Lake Charles Memorial Health Center. The family request that visiting hours be observed at the Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 8:30 AM until the time of his services at 11:00 AM. Brother Roy Platt of Christ's Church of Jennings will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings, LA. Mr. Amoson was born in Jennings, LA on November 10, 1957, to the late Mr. Amoson Marcantel, Sr. of Basile, LA and Ms. Marjorie Gatte of Evangeline, LA. As a resident of Longville, LA, Amoson worked as an Air Conditioning Repair Man throughout the South Louisiana area. Beyond his work pursuits, Mr. Amoson greatly enjoyed his hobbies of hunting and fishing. A hard-working man who will be missed by those who knew him. Amoson, Jr. is survived by his mother, Marjorie Gatte of Evangeline, LA; two sisters, Sandra Guillory and Christina Fontenot, both of Jennings, LA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Marcantel; his father, Amoson Marcantel, Sr. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Matthews Funeral Home JENNINGS, 511 N Cutting Ave Jennings, LA 70546
