Amy L. Ahlstrom, 51, of Marysville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and following a hard fought, courageous battle with cancer.
A devoted wife and mother, she was a 1990 graduate of St. Clairsville High School and a 2015 graduate of THE Ohio State University. Amy was a teacher with the Ridgemont Schools for over 8 years, retiring early due to her illness. She attended the First English Lutheran Church in Marysville, had a gift for knitting and many other crafts, enjoyed reading and loved to travel, especially her trips to Europe.
Born August 31, 1972 in Wheeling, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha (Wickizer) Porter.
On August 7, 2003 in Columbus, she married her husband of over 20 years, Gary Ahlstrom, and he survives in Marysville. She is also survived by her sons, Sterling Ahlstrom of Bellefontaine, Laken Ahlstrom and Griffin Ahlstrom, both of Marysville; a brother, Mike (Mern) Porter of Columbus; a sister, Lori (Mark) Thompson of Commercial Point; mother-in-law, Isabelle Ahlstrom; numerous nieces and nephews, 2 great nieces, along with many other extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate Amy’s life will be held at 5:00 P.M. Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the Wilson Funeral Home 621 W. Fifth St. Marysville with Pastor Kurt Luebkman officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
