COHOES –
At around 2am on the night of December 9th, Amy Beth Brownstein passed away in the comfort of her own home. She was 53 years old, and is survived by her husband, Shawn Brownstein, and her two children, Kip and Aaron. She’ll be honored with a celebration of life at the church she attended.
Amy was kind, compassionate, and smart. She spent a portion of her life working as a nurse in a nursing home, doing what many others couldn’t bear to do. She then spent time as a stay at home mom, dedicating her time to raising both of her children. Following this, she became a bus monitor and then a bus driver, ensuring that children made it home from school safe and sound. For her final venture, she made the difficult choice to return to college and pursue an associate’s degree in early childhood, looking forward to becoming a teacher in the coming years. She was on track to graduate in the spring of 2026.
Amy was incredibly creative, finding joy in every kind of art. Her main hobby was crocheting, where she loved to create for the simple joy of creating. She loved to be creative, expressing herself through many different mediums, such as crafting, drawing, coloring, and painting. Everything she made was made with love and devotion, a kind of care that is irreplaceable.
Amy provided undying love and support to everyone around her, brightening their day with a witty remark and pure love. She’ll be forever loved, remembered, cherished and missed. We wish her love, happiness and peace for wherever she may go.
