Amy McCullough Biddlecomb Beane crossed over to a brighter place on January 20, 2025. She leaves behind her husband, Hunter, son, Richard, and a close family to serve out a well-lived life. Amy offered a sense of serenity, confidence and good humor to all who knew and loved her.
Born on October 17, 1966, in Richmond, VA, she grew up on Main Street, Reedville with Cockrell's Creek in the backyard and friends all around. Her childhood tape recordings became classics at family gatherings where she would talk about her Dad's fish trapping, life on the water and neighborhood gossip.
Amy graduated from Northumberland High School in 1985 with an expertise in French, American History and as a lifelong interest in the music groups Duran Duran and Men at Work. She enrolled at Loyola University, New Orleans, later that year. Amy thrived in production for the university television station and newspaper staff and even had a few interactions with fellow Loyola student Harry Connick, Jr. During her freshman year, to her surprise, she was named Queen of the Holly Ball that winter. She made the Holly Ball a lifelong endeavor, assisting with the event and serving on its board. Though hundreds of miles away at college, she always felt at home with her uncles, aunts and cousins, who worked in the local menhaden industry in Morgan City, Louisiana.
Amy was a Sister in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority where she remained active for the remaining years of her life. She performed in the choir at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Fleeton, Wicomico Episcopal Church, and served on the Holly Ball Committee.
She had an eye for life as a videographer, photographer and producer with a keen vision behind the lens. Weddings, holiday celebrations and reunions are treasured in perpetuity thanks to Amy's heart and love of family.
Amy loved to travel and made many trips to England, including London and the Isle of White, her family's place of origin. She also crossed the English Channel to watch the 1989 Tour de France. She organized family trips to England and cruised to numerous Caribbean ports including Bermuda, Turks and Caicos and the US. Virgin Islands.
Amy married Hunter on June 28, 2003 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Fleeton. After a honeymoon in Negril, the couple made their home in Sampsons Wharf.
Amy is survived by her husband, Richard Hunter Beane, II, and son, Richard Hunter Beane, III. She leaves behind her loving parents J. Dudley Biddlecomb and Anita Sue Barnes of Fair Port; father-in-law Tucker Beane of Miskimon; her brother Alfred M. Biddlecomb (Terri), nephew Andrew Judson Biddlecomb and niece Samantha Marie Biddlecomb of Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.

I will always remember Amy's smile. I haven't seen her in years (Sorority Sister) but kept in touch over Facebook. Amy was always a positive presence in people's lives...always kind and always lovely to be around. I pray for her family.

Amy was one of my sorority sisters. I have very fond memories of numerous dances and parties that we attended. She was always so kind to me. We kept in touch through the years via Facebook and it breaks my heart that she is no longer with us. I am sending hugs and prayers to your family.

Amy was my sorority sister and friend-a lovely person full of charm and grace, and a quick wit! My love and prayers go out to her husband, son and family. I am so sorry. -Geralyn Farrell Noonan, Loyola New Orleans `88 BA; `91 JD
