Amy Skipper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nassau Funeral Home - Callahan on Dec. 23, 2025.
Amy Ruth Skipper was born on April 27, 1966, in Madison, Pennsylvania and arrived in Heaven, December 21, 2025. She carried that small-town strength with her throughout her life - resilient, grounded, and fiercely loyal to those she loved. In 1986, Amy moved to Callahan Florida, where she built her life, raised her family, and put down roots that lasted a lifetime.

Amy was a devoted wife to her husband, James, and a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Amanda (Austin) Christy, Josh Weisel, Jamie (Jaden) Gray, Sierra Skipper, Sydney Skipper, Christy (Brandon) May and Stacey (Robert) Rouse, along with ten beloved grandchildren who were the light of her life. Her family was her pride, her purpose, and her constant motivation.

Amy is preceded in death by her parents, Rayburn and Ruth Hollister, Jr.

Amy worked for 36 years at Gate Gourmet at Jacksonville International Airport, a testament to her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. She believed in showing up, doing the job right, and standing by her responsibilities - values she lived every day of her life.

Amy faced her illness - cancer - with remarkable courage and determination. Even during her most difficult days, she remained strong, honest, and dignified. Amy was never defined by her illness, but by her resilience, her fight, and the deep love she gave so freely to others.

This tribute was prepared by Amy's best friend, Susan, who never left her side and tirelessly helped advocate for her through every obstacle. Their bond was unbreakable, built on loyalty, love, and unwavering support until the very end.

Amy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her strength, devotion, and legacy of love will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all the lives she touched.
